Cara was born and raised on Long Island, NY. Her interest in photography began at age eight when she was given her first camera. After working steadily in film for several years, Cara returned to photography, a natural step forward. “I started my career in film due to my love of story telling. Yet, my passion resides in photography, where I am continually challenged to capture movement and moments.”
Cara Howe attended Emerson College for film, television and photography. She furthered her studies in photography and advertising at The Portfolio Center in Atlanta. She currently resides in NYC and is co-owner of Brooklynphoto Studio. Her clients include; Polo Ralph Lauren, JCrew, Hanes Brands, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, Camuto, Jones Apparel Group, Publicis, BBH, DMD insight, Conde Nast, and The New York Times.
Cara’s new body of work encompasses her original vision. Her new illustrative lifestyle photography tells the story of people, places and things. “I wanted to convey that people give life to a place, and that place lives and breathes as we do. It’s the quiet intimate moments that reveal these emotional connections.”
